Match the device
Confirm the operating system, processor, memory, camera and microphone requirements, plus any excluded brands or models. Specified Windows versions can be discussed, subject to hardware support and licensing.
Use the right software
Your course may specify Inspera with Safe Exam Browser, Respondus LockDown Browser or another client. Use the institution’s installation link and version; a generic download may not be the right one.
Run the official check
Complete the practice exam or equipment check on the rented laptop and the network you will use. Check power, camera and audio again before the exam. Sign in to your own accounts yourself.

A few things worth checking.
Can I use the laptop for my university exam?
Send the current instructions for your course and exam. Requirements can differ within the same university, including the operating system, browser version and whether the exam is on campus or at home. We confirm the proposed device and preparation before payment; your institution decides which equipment is accepted.
Can you install a specific Windows version or exam application?
We can discuss the required system version, language, drivers and official exam client. Please supply the exact version, your institution’s download link and any configuration file. Hardware support, software licensing and any installation fee must be confirmed first. You sign in yourself when a student account is required.
Can I hire a laptop for GRE or TOEFL at home?
Ask us to check the equipment requirements for your booked test, such as the GRE General Test at home or TOEFL iBT Home Edition. Eligibility for an at-home session, camera arrangements and the required test application depend on the provider’s current rules. A laptop alone does not fulfil every test-room or identity requirement.
What happens to the deposit?
The deposit is A$300. Before payment, we confirm the return time and location, device condition, deposit-return conditions, and the arrangements for damage or late return. Please ask for those terms together with your final quote.
Can my university lend me a laptop instead?
Some universities offer loan devices or exam-day support. Check your university’s current availability and borrowing conditions first. A private rental may suit you if you need a device earlier for preparation, need it for longer, or prefer an agreed local handover or delivery.
Is this service affiliated with a university or exam provider?
QIE RENTAL is an independent computer rental service. We are not an official university or exam-provider partner. Equipment preparation does not guarantee admission to an exam, a successful test-day check or an exam result.
